Character: Jennifer
Canon: Rule of Rose
Version: Video Game version (I don’t think there’s any other version).
Canon Point: When Jennifer becomes an honorary member of the Red Crayon Aristocrat Club, after the imps tie her up in ropes and drag her off. On arrival to the house, her dress is covered in red crayon drawings and cruel words. Even parts of her skin are covered in the waxy, red substance, mostly around her mouth and face. She is also currently missing her long, black stockings as they had been taken away from her by the children.

Gender: Female
History: http://ruleofrose.wikia.com/wiki/Jennifer
http://ruleofrose.wikia.com/wiki/Rule_of_Rose_(plot)
Personality: Jennifer is a very delicate young girl who has grown incredibly weak and depressed over her childhood. She was abused by the adults and other children that were at the orphanage that she grew up in. She has an extremely hard time standing up for herself and doesn’t speak up much, so she is very easy to push around, literally and figuratively.
The young woman is usually quite unhappy, seeing she’s dogged by an unlucky plague. But despite the fact that she’s so unlucky and so unhappy, she at least tries to find ways to be happy, even if it’s almost impossible for her to feel true happiness. She is very kind towards others, even if they aren’t so kind to her. There is almost no such thing as anger or spite in young Jennifer’s heart. All she wants is to treat others the way she wants to be treated. But almost no-one truly treats her right.
Though now is an especially hard time for her to be happy due to the fact that Brown, her most beloved friend, was not transferred over to this new house. This has saddened her immensely… He was her only happiness.
Because of how kind she is, it’s near impossible to anger Jennifer. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. In fact, she lacks a spine in general, seeing as though she’s afraid of a lot of things. Even during combat, she often covers her eyes as she swings her weapon at her attackers. At the point she was taken out of her unpleasant environment, she had never even thought to argue with her fellow orphans, no matter what they did. So she’s never had any outbursts of anger or even mustered up the courage and strength to stand up for herself. Maybe one day… But with an unlucky girl like her, who knows.
One more thing to note about little Jennifer... She tends to refer to most people as a Prince or Princess of something when she meets them. Perhaps she won't call them this title out loud but it's how she will remember and identify you.
Fears:
MONSTERS: Jennifer has a huge fear of monsters and prefers to avoid them at all costs.
LOSING LOVED ONES: Jennifer has had this happen on more than one occasion in different ways. She hates it and can’t stand the idea of losing any more that are near and dear to her.
BEING ALONE: Even though there were people that surrounded her in her childhood, Jennifer has almost always been alone. Isolated from the other kids and adults. What a poor, unlucky girl…
PAIN AND DEATH: This Is one of the biggest things that Jennifer would like to avoid. Even if it’s not her dying. Dying is so scary!
BEING HATED: After being so hated by everyone in the orphanage, Jennifer despises being hated by others. The idea of having everyone turned against her is unnerving.
BEING BLAMED: No matter what she did to please the children (usually when it came down to finding something that had gone missing), Jennifer had always been blamed for stealing/killing said things.
INSECTS AND SPIDERS: Bugs and arachnids freak her out, especially after she had been placed into the “Onion Bag”, where she was bagged up and had them trapped in with her.
SMALL SPACES: Jennifer is a tad on the claustrophobic side.
LOCKED IN: Being locked into a room or (any place, really) makes Jennifer a nervous wreck. Looks like she’s in the right place.
AIRCRAFTS: After losing her parents to a blimp crash and being trapped onto an airship, Jennifer has a hard time with even the idea of being stuck on anything that flies.
STRAY DOG WILL HAVE HIS PEAS: Jennifer has a fear of the one called Stray Dog, a creature who ate children who didn’t do their chores.
Weaknesses:
UNLUCKY: Jennifer is extremely unlucky. All the bad things seem to happen to her and never stop tormenting her. It’s not often that a happy thing comes her way, even when she tries to find ways to be happy. What a hapless, unlucky girl…
SCRAWNY: Jennifer’s body type is nothing short of scrawny, making her very weak. She cannot take many hits, is easy to knock down, and using melee weapons are difficult for her. She even has a hard time escaping the grasp of children and monsters like them.
WEAPONS ARE HARD: Despite having experience with different melee weapons, Jennifer is horrible at aiming and can easily miss her targets. Her hits aren’t always that hard, either. She also has had no real experience with any kind of guns.
SLOW: Jennifer cannot run very fast and is in no way agile.
EASILY INTIMIDATED: Even as a 19 year old woman, she was pushed around and bullied by children. She can be easily manipulated and ordered around, even if she really doesn’t want to do it. The only thing that she might not be able to be forced to do is kill someone. But who knows. It’s never happened before.
SOFT-SPOKEN: It’s hard for people to hear or even notice Jennifer because of how quiet she is. No matter how kindly she smiles or how hard she cries, she doesn’t usually get heard or seen. She doesn’t normally get taken seriously.
NOT TOO OBSERVANT: When it comes to big items, Jennifer can spot them on her own. But without Brown to sniff out things for her, smaller items are difficult for her to see. Example: Marbles, ribbons, and candies.
LIMPING: Jennifer, when she is injured enough, limps at a pitiful speed. If you thought her running was slow…
CLUMSY: Jennifer has a hard time keeping her balance and is easy to, literally, push over.
LIMITED SUPPLIES: Jennifer cannot carry too many items with her. She has a limit to how much she can take with her, often forcing her to drop things that may be less important than other things.
FAINTING GOAT: Jennifer faints easily. If she sees something super hideous or disturbing, she will most likely faint. However, monsters do not cause her to faint.
Mundane Strengths/Abilities:
LOYAL: Even if she isn’t your friend, even if you hate her, she is loyal through and through. She will defend and do whatever is told of her. Though if it’s an evil deed, she may be quite hesitant to your request.
DEFENDS TILL THE END: Despite being horribly afraid of combat, Jennifer has a knack for being able to fight till the end of a battle. Or at least until she finds a way out. This is probably because she has been forced into battling many imps with no escape.
HOUSEHOLD WEAPONS: While Jennifer sucks at using weapons, she will still use whatever she can as a weapon. She fought imps with nothing but a little dessert fork. You gotta give the girl some credit for that!
SCOUT: She is quite good at finding important lost items and pets, even if it’s on accident. (But, be warned. Due to her unlucky-ness, the item may be ruined or the pet may be dead.)
KIND: Jennifer is probably the nicest girl you’ll ever meet. She just wants the best for everyone. She never means harm and wants to be helpful.
IMAGINATION: As strange as this may sound, Jennifer’s childish imagination allows her to communicate with inanimate objects. She had talked with scissors, trash cans, and Bucket Knights (which are pretty much scare crows with buckets for heads). In fact, these objects were her friends during her hardships.
OBEDIENT: This can be a good or a bad thing, depending on the order.
STOCKER: Jennifer can find places to store items she might need later. And these places are often secret so that she can rely on finding these things later if she needs them.
KEEPER OF PROMISES: Jennifer never forgets a promise. After she had forgotten her dear friend’s oath, she vowed to never forget anything like that again. Not ever.
RARE BURSTS OF ANGER: Jennifer, at this point in her game, has yet to actually get angry. And when she’s angry, she has no problem with standing up for herself and doing the right thing, making sure she gets her feelings across. But this is a very rare thing. The situation has to be quite extreme for her to lose her temper.
PROBLEM SOLVER: Jennifer is quite good at figuring out puzzles and finding other means to get what she needs. Even if that means going all over tar-nation to get to the other side of an area.
Sensitivity/Magical Ability:
Jennifer isn’t sensitive nor has magical abilities. She’s just ridiculously unlucky…
Supply List:
The items that have stuck with her are a kitchen knife (for a weapon), 15 marbles, 1 ribbon, 5 biscuits, 3 lollipops, 1 red crayon, and one bar of chocolate.

Chapter 10: The House of Doors
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was looking for happiness.
She found a house with many doors.
The first door led to a room filled with flowers but they had all wilted.
The second door led to a room filled with candy but the sweets were rotten to the core.
The third door wouldn’t budge no matter how hard she tried.
The fourth door led to no-where.
All she wanted was to be happy, but she was just too unlucky.
The fifth door gobbled her up in a flash of wood and crimson blood.
The end.
In the middle of an entryway laid a tall, but young girl. Her eyes shifted underneath her eyelids as she began to stir. Slowly, her eyes flickered open, finding herself lying on her side. But she quickly realized that she wasn’t able to breathe or move very well at all. The taste of wax caked her tongue, her mouth aching from the large amount of somethings shoved into it. The girl wiggled and gagged, trying to expel whatever had been stuffed into her mouth in a panic. She would have dislodged them out with her hands but she was also bound by ropes. Taking a deep breath through her nose, she uses her tongue and air to help push them out. With one big “Puh!” the girl spat the waxy things out. Red crayons spilled onto the floor and Jennifer coughed roughly, hungrily taking in air.
Once her coughing fit had finished and she had caught her breath, the young girl looked around. She had expected to be back in the Filth Room on the airship, with all the other orphans. But this room was kinda dark and didn’t smell nasty. In fact, it smelt like freshly cut flowers. Confused and dazed, Jennifer attempted to sit up. Perhaps she could get a better view. Since she was not tied to a pole, as per usual, she was going to use her strength to get up. Carefully (while quietly grunting), she rolled onto her stomach and curled her legs under her. Using what little strength she felt she had, she lifted her upper torso till she was upright, almost falling backwards.
Jennifer’s eyes explored the room but she did not recognize this place. There were flowers that littered the room she was currently in, but none of them happened to be roses, the most common flower that grew around where she was from… What happened? As if on cue, her mind flashed to the last thing she remembered. She had been made a member of the Aristocrat Club. They said she’d get her very own Red Crayon, a symbol of her membership. Jennifer looked to the bundle of coloring crayons that had been forced into her mouth with a hurt expression. Though she may as well take one with her. Turning her body, Jennifer slowly leaned back and grabbed one with her closely wrapped hands. But that’s when she realized that wasn’t the only thing they had done to her.
In the corner of her eye, she noticed that there was red on her ashy-gray dress. The unfortunate girl examined her dress and saw that the orphans had drawn all over her dress. She couldn’t quite make out everything due to the ropes hiding what had been written on her arms and waist, they didn’t seem innocent in the least. Of course not… They hated her. No matter what she did for them, she always got into trouble and was blamed for everything that happened. She sighed… Well, there was no point to just sitting here. She tugged at her binds, trying to see if she could get free. But it was useless. She was starting to get burns from struggling. Perhaps Brown could—
Brown!
Her heart lept in a panic as she quickly turned herself to see where her faithful companion had gone. But he was no-where to be found.
“Brown!” Jennifer called in a desperate tone, hoping he’d come to her rescue like all those other times.
But she was all alone. And this made her very sad. What a poor, lonesome girl.
Maybe he was somewhere else…? Only one way to find out. At least her legs weren’t bound up. She could probably walk around. Taking another deep breath, she gathered as much strength as she could to stand herself up. It was difficult without her arms to balance and hold her up, but she managed. Once on her feet, feeling humiliated with the ropes around her and the labels that marked her, she slowly made her way into the next part of the house…
And so the gruesome story of the Unlucky Princess goes on…
